We complete the first stage of the "A Warm Home" project
Dear teachers and students from St. Paul School in Macau:
How are you? We sincerely thank you for the love and help you have given to the children of the 4 Daoming primary schools. For more than 8 years, we have funded orphan childrem from powerty stricken mountainous areas and from different small ethnic minorities, like Tibetan, Lisu, Nu, Yi, Miao. They total more than 100 poor students that, thanks to your help, have been able to complete the primary and secondary schooling.
And in the Miao mountain area we have built 4 Daoming primary schools. Up to now, more than 560 children have received in them complitely free education, as well as the love and support from may people from inside and outside China. So far we have been able to provide more than 4,000 pieces of clothing, and more than 10,000 school supplies items, exercise books, pencils, etc.
But, although we give the children an opportunity to go to school, most of the students' families still live in thatched houses. When they go back home, appart from a bed to sleep, the house is completely empty. They need to build a fire in order to cook and to be able to see, and this is a constant danger for the whole family. So now, we are implementing a new plan: We want them to leave the mud and thatched houses and help them to build a new brick house. We called this plan: "A WARM HOME". The plan consists in giving each family that still lives in thatched and mud houses a subsidy of 5,000 RMB, and they will take care of the rest. We plan to help 10 families per year to conver the construction of a new home and, after careful investigation, we have selected the most needy villagers. In the website you can see the old house, and besides the new one.
Gifts of roses, leave a lingering fragrance in our hands! I hope you continue funding the 4 Daoming primary schools, as well as the "A WARM HOME" project.
