Opening ceremony of primary school Daoming 1 (Hongpotou)

The opening ceremony of our primary school Daoming 1 (Hongpotou) was hel on February 28, 2007 , with the especial attendance of a group of 6 persons coming from Macau, including the Director of St. Paul School, the Administrator the same School and the director and deputy director of the Holy Family School. The Director of St. Paul School, Mr. Su, addressed a few words and presented the school Daoming 1 with several sporting goods, as well as educational items for each of the new students. The school was opened with the traditional sound of firecrackers, after hoisting the national flag and singing the national anthem and was attended by all the inhabitants of Hongpotou.

The schools ""Daoming"" are built by SP Edify (St. Paul Fund for the educational infrastructure in Yunnan province), fund created by St. Paul School. Daoming 1 has a construction of 180 m2, three classes, two-bedroom residence for teachers, an office room for teachers, services for students and playground. The inhabitants of Hongpotou have contributed with their own workforce, to raise awareness of the importance of educating their children, thus making the cost of building the school much cheaper. Due to water scarcity in the village, as well as the difficulty of reaching the village, construction has lasted more than 2 ½ months and the total cost was 86,536 yuan. SP Edify is committed to continue supporting this school in the future, as well as to the construction of other schools where necessary.
