Testimony of Li Zhibiao, father of a primary student
What is love?
Love, people's understanding of it is different, but my understanding is very simple: I believe that love is trust between people and mutual understanding is already an interpretation of love.
I was lucky enough to be chosen by St. Paul's School to go with the school's Administrator, Mr. An to visit the Daoming elementary schools that St. Paul School has created in the mountain areas of Yunnan (China), and this trip has let me experience personally that this is love. Accustomed to living in the city, it is difficult to imagine that seven years ago, the 18 families living in the village of Zhangpojiao, known as "black people, black households", lived in thatched houses, had no running water, no electricity, no roads, no official registration, no medical facilities, and were virtually isolated from the outside world by the big mountains.
Fortunately, with the help of St. Paul's School teachers and students and Li Shu and Chen Li, Zhangpojiao has already built a water reservoir to solve the problem of drinking water, has built a school so that children can go to school, and has built brick houses too so the villagers and their livestock may live in separate houses.
The day of our visit, as the six member of St. Paul School's delegation arrived at Daoming 2 - Zhangpojiao, one of our primary one student quickly ran to Chen Li and said to her while hugging her legs: "I missed you so much". It is not necessary to say anything else, but this love has already gone beyond the teacher ─ student's love. It is in fact he highest state of love.
But there are many places like Zhangpojiao in Yunnan Province that live in extreme poverty, forgotten by the government, needing the help of everyone of us. Let us extend our loving hands to help them!
Talking about love, there is no the word "delete" , not even just "save". What is needed from everybody is to "copy", and go to "paste". If only everyone of us could "paste" this kind love once, the world would be much better.
